Nights out and "in" in New Zealand: Dunedin, Rotorua

We went to a Battle of the Bands rock show on campus this past week and were blown away by the first band KOTAC (http://myspace.com/kotacmusic). They rock a preety hard disco/ funk/ electro/ pop/ dance party fusion that tickles me jsut right. We actually went to go see them a few days later at another club called Backstage. I urge you to check out their one song on myspace, hopefully soon there will be more.
The other bands playing the BOTB weren't worth a dime, but we stuck around hoping to catch another that could actually battle with KOTAC...no dice But we were able to pic this pic up for Jeffe, you would have been home here.

Phil won the dunce hat the night of the Willowbank pizza party, Im obviously excited about it. ">
During our time in Rotorua we came to an Irish pub with an amazing washboard player (mentioned in another post below).

This is becoming our tight-knit crew of friends. Ashley and Lynlea (Phil's roomie) This is at Phil and Lynlea's place. Don't be scared of the boytoy pictures in the back, they were the Kiwi hosts'. Phil's working on getting them off.
This is the Bowler Pub near campus. During the first week of "Re-orientation" as they call it, hardly any Kiwis actually go to class. They are too busy starting to drink at 8am. We went into a bar called Captain Cooks at 11am and did not have room to stand. It was absolutely insane. Most of the people showed up in a costume, the entire Rugby team showed up in drag. We departed and went to bowler.....the club above.
Above is the Monkey bar that we have visisted a couple of times. No cover, 2 for 1 drink passes when arriving, and lazers--thats why we go. If you look real hard you might be able to to Phil dancing.
