Akaroa...
this Video does not even do this place justice. Akaroa is the most beautiful place that I have ever had the luck to grace my presence upon. We all walked around with ear-to-ear grins the entire span of our short time there. It takes a long trek to get there--probably good for them, and for us ,because it's not crowded--and we did not want to leave. The town's bay is home to the world's smallest and rarest dophin, called the Hector dolphin. The town was originally founded by French settlers, who left their mark with on the street names starting with "Rue de." We took an amazingly beautiful scenic drive there. And more than once, you could have heard me remark "this is the most beautiful place I have ever been"--only to be out done by the next stop. The rolling mountainsides patched with evergreens and sheep feel all the way down to bays thats seemed irridescent with green/ teal/ blue, that appeared to glow.
